Short description of your place and practices

We (Annapurna Seed Library, Jorhat, Assam) have preserved around 550 varieties of rice which are indigenous to North East India. Dalkachu, Mothonga, Gezep Sali, Joldubi, Vabuli Joha, Beji Dhan, Bor Malbhog, Suagmoni and Medela Guri are some rare varieties hardly found in the entire region except in our personal seed library. To preserve the seeds of all the varieties of rice, these are cultivated every year.
We also dedicated to conservation of heirloom vegetable seeds, herbs and plants.
