Short description of your place and practices
In my small garden space in Brazil, I grow a diverse mix of spices, herbs, vegetables, fruits, berries, and flowers—such as oregano, turmeric, basil, kale, tomatoes, okra, acerola, mango, mulberries, and orchids. I compost and follow permaculture and agroecological principles, treating this garden as a living laboratory for learning about soil, plants, animals, and the dynamics of nature.
As a developer and co-creator of the Agroecology Map and One Million Voices of Agroecology, I seek to connect technology with ecological wisdom, fostering collaborative, regenerative, and community-based knowledge exchange. My garden reflects this vision: a space of experimentation, coexistence, and co-creation with the land.
Farm and farming system
What is your dream for the future of your farm and/or your location in general?
My dream for this space is to continue transforming it into a living classroom—where nature teaches through observation, patience, and care. I envision a garden that grows not only food, but also knowledge, connection, and meaning. A place where soil is enriched, biodiversity flourishes, and each plant tells a story about coexistence and interdependence. I want this land to be a small but vibrant ecosystem that reflects the principles of agroecology and permaculture: diversity, cooperation, regeneration, and respect for natural cycles.
In the long term, I hope this space can inspire others—physically and virtually—to reconnect with the land. I want to share experiences, host learning exchanges, and create bridges between people, communities, and territories. As I continue working with open data, citizen science, and collaborative platforms like Agroecology Map and One Million Voices, I dream of strengthening networks that value autonomy, solidarity, and collective knowledge. My hope is that this garden becomes part of a larger movement that nurtures both the Earth and the human spirit, contributing to a more sustainable and equitable future.
