The PELUM Kenya Model Garden summarizes the Agroecological Practices to those who visit PELUM Kenya Secretariat at Juja, Kiambu County of Kenya. It also encourages the Secretariat staff to be ambassadors of sustainable agricultural practices wherever they live starting with their own kitchen gardens. That way they support the field work with an understanding of the training content being delivered to the Member Organizations.
Our experiences are that information is power and it becomes more effective when visions are shared and demonstrated by word and deed.

I work for an Organization called PELUM Kenya. This is a Network based Organization and we build the capacity of Member Organizations to undertake Agroecology with the framers they reach in the community. Besides being the Programme Officer in charge of Agroenterprise & Market Devt. I also do showcase Agroecological practices at PELUM Kenya Model garden at Juja, Kenya Rd. at the PELUM Kenya headquarters. We continue to cascade these practices among our members through various programmes across the 57 members in 42 Counties of Kenya. Our dream is to see communities improving their livelihoods as a result of Agroecological farming practices.
