Short description of your place and practices

At Perrotis College, I am currently engaged as an M.Sc. student volunteer in two agroecology projects. The first project is part of an EU Horizon regenerative agriculture initiative, focusing on studying the long-term effects of cover cropping on maize yields planted successively after the cover crops, as well as on soil health. The second project involves a long-term evaluation of the effects of soil amendments, such as zeolite and biochar, on olive grove establishment, olive yields, and soil health

What is your dream for the future of your farm and/or your location in general?

As an agribusiness professional and agroecology enthusiast, my dream for the future of my farm and its surrounding community is to contribute to creating a thriving agroecological hub that serves as a model for sustainable and regenerative agriculture. I envision a farm that operates in harmony with nature, utilizing agroecological principles to enhance biodiversity, soil health, and ecosystem resilience while enriching the lives of those who live around it and offering financial rewards too.
Also, I hope the farm becomes a center for education and knowledge-sharing, where farmers, researchers, and community members come together to exchange ideas, learn new techniques, and collaborate on research projects. By empowering individuals with the skills and resources to practice agroecology, I believe we can create a more sustainable and equitable food system that benefits both people and the planet.
