Dhading

The farm is in Nilkantha municipality-12, Dhading, Nepal. Integrated farming is done in the farm with emphasis on agroecology practices. On farm use of vermicomposting, bee keeping, rearing of hens to use the manure, and plantation of agroforestry species have been the major practices. Besides, promotion and selling of these to farmers is done to transform the farming into sustainable and environmentally friendly. Experiences so far has been good, been able to grow farm gradually, promote improved farming practices to farming communities and offer on farm employment. Still, farm can improve if provided with exposure to other sustainable farming practices.

Yes, I do have a dream to make farm more competent. The ultimate dream is to reduce the use of chemicals, promote biodiversity and promote resilient agroecosystem, and my farm being pioneer in this. Farm is small and growing in the years. Farm have achieved sufficiency and provides employment to 4 persons, mostly women. I would like to upgrade the farming practices of local farming communities through the promotion of environmentally friendly and sustainable practices in upcoming years. Practices are limited and area bound, and further, exposure to new practices and technology will certainly help for efficient work of farm.
