Summary description of agroecological practice

Agriculture and Agroforestry; We promote economic growth by increasing the income of smallholder cocoa farmers through the cultivation of organic cocoa which enables them to receive good prices in Kenema and Kailahun Districts. Promote climate-smart agricultural farming as a future mitigation strategy for climate change by providing planting materials for mix cropping; cassava cuttings, plantain/banner suckers, nitrogen-fixing trees, and timber trees.
Environmental Protection and Agroecology; AESL promotes sustainable use of ecosystems and halts climate change by reclaiming degraded land by intensifying reforestation in the country through the development of community forests in a bid to increase tree cover, and consequently reduce the many environmental disasters that currently occur

Type of agroecological practice

We establish cocoa and other tree crops nurseries, we out plant into permanent sites and reforest degraded lands.

Implementing the practice

Establishing community nurseries, develop community climate smart farms and train youth on agronomic practices and livelihood
