This practice is about 5years today. And the more i engage in it, i learn something new. Especially with respect to medicinal plants.

Uptake motivation

My motivation to polyculture is as a result of the negative and less promising effects of monoculture. Monoculture thought me to be more dependent on ecternal inputs which has made me spend alot of money of fertilizers and pesticides not knowing I could save more money if i can produce my own inputs locally which are environmentally friendly and cause no harm to my health. Again my motivation came as a result of the positive effect of polyculture as one does not depend only on one crop for the whole year. This is to say if you harvest corn after three months, you can still harvest cocoyams or cassava after when corn has been removed.
