Where it is realized
Summary description of agroecological practice
The agroecological practice I'm about to showcase is how to make organic fertilizers from Prosopis juliflora. The leaves of the tree are mixed with biochar and slurry from cows and then covered for decomposition.
Type of agroecological practice
Organic Manure Production
Implementing the practice
First, the leaves and tender branches of the Prosopis tree are cut into small pieces, the biochar is then collected and cut into small pieces. Dig a small hole of around 30 centimeters deep and 3 meters and starting with biochar, place it in the hole followed by the leaves of the tree. After that, pour the slurry evenly add some little water to it, and cover it with the soil. Temperatures are being checked weekly by inserting a rod and checking its moisture.
Why you use and what you expect from this practice?
I decided to use the tree to show the community that the tree can have positive uses among many disadvantages. After this practice I expect people to learn new advantages of Prosopis tree. Doing this will help people avoid the use of synthetic products which are not good for the soil as well as human health.
Substitution of less ecological alternative
