Summary description of agroecological practice

Organic rice

Type of agroecological practice

We carry out organic farming activities, without using chemical fertilizers or chemical pesticides. The initial fertilizer to fertilize soil that we use comes from animal (sheep) waste. then we use natural pesticides that we extract from plants around us which are bitter. To increase the fertility of plants when they start to grow, we provide natural vitamins that we ferment from rabbit droppings.

Implementing the practice

Initially we needed to prepare land for demonstration, then collaborate with sheep farmers to prepare manure, then we tried to use good, certified seeds. after that we implemented a chemical and pesticide free farming system. Once the results are visible, other farmers will see for themselves and hope they will be interested in taking part in the activity.

Why you use and what you expect from this practice?

we want to have healthier products that can result in better price on the market. and we hoping The nutrients in the soil will improve, so that would give us a sustainable quality of the final product.

Details

We suggest to farmers who are still unsure, to still add a little chemical fertilizer into the soil at the beginning of the process, so they don't worry too much about possible failures.
