Nowadays the community is getting huge amount of grass from the area for their cattle, also selling surplus productions. They are also getting forest products like fuel wood, construction poles and fodder for their cattle. The productivity of the target area, including the downstream area is much improved.
Unintended positive side effects of practice
Details
The knowledge sharing part is beyond our thought. Not only for the beneficiaries but also for the surrounding community in the kebele (lower administrative level), the area is being used as a demonstration site for scaling up. The local administration and other projects are also taking good lessons from it.

Climate change vulnerability effects
Details
The community in the area were previously vulnerable to shocks and highly dependent on productive safety-net program (PSNP). After the intervention, the community are a bit resistant to shocks because of because of diversified products being obtained from the land. Alternative livelihood enhancement activities (focussing on small ruminants production & fattening, poultry production, fruit production, improved cookstoves production and solar energy, etc.) is also being conducted in the target area for the target community.
