The farm is located in Ruri east sublocation in Homabay county. it has diversified activities taking place in it. Cereal farming (maize, beans, green grams and sorghum) kitchen garden of indigenous vegetables( cow peas and pumpkin), fruit trees and a tree nursery section of fruits trees. The climate is favorable for both animals and crops. Mostly its the family labor acquired in the farm.

I practice cereal and livestock farming. Maize is entirely for my household consumption while sorghum and green grams are for commercial use. I connect with institutions around and the Kenya breweries limited for sale of green grams and sorghum respectively. With the knowledge of importance of trees in my farm I also manage a fruit tree nursery on my farm.

Food security has been a motivation. With the diversified on farm activities m sure of an improved income generation from the activities done. This will in turn give a lee way of expansion in farming and use of good agricultural activities. Push pull technology has also helped in restoring my soils fertility and resulted to increased yields and therefore I have plans to extend the knowledge to my neighboring farmers who have already shown interest.
