Sulman Akoko

I come from Kenya, Homabay County, Ruri East Sub-Location in Wandiji A Village. I practice mixed farming both crops and livestock.

I practice mixed farming because it helps me with continuous production and it reduces my dependency on external inputs and costs. For instance, I produce my own organic manure that I use on the farm and my livestock are able to access feeds too.

Besides farming, I also participate in Group Savings and Loaning Activity with my group members of Kipasi Women Self Help Group.

I practice mixed farming mainly for household consumption but sometimes I do sell my produce when in surplus or when there is a need.

To be able to produce more in surplus for economic benefits.
